SMART Goals that is. Before I blather on with this entry, I’d like to share my very first Slideshare presentation on SMART Goals and my Big Hairy Audacious Goal (BHAG).
I’ve been a little quiet on the “look at me on this reality game show!” front, AKA Prosperity’s Kitchen but that’s because I get shy about things I participate in. And I shouldn’t. Because the more I share, the more publicity it ends up being.
You know, the promotion thing. Marketing. The whole reason a business would even exist.
I exist!
Learning to work ON my business, and not in my business has been tough, but it’s made me grow leaps and bounds and help gain confidence to continue building my business towards reaching the milestones I’ve set in place and beyond.
For some of the points, like networking with professionals 1x a week, I’m already accomplishing. In fact, this week alone has been 3 meetings, and 1 with an advisor from the Prosperity’s Kitchen board who synchronously happens to be based in Manila, like me. The takeaway from that meeting was that your BHAG should be at the forefront of your mind in order to accomplish them, and not this dreamy, wishy-washy far away scary thing that it normally ends up being. Work on your BHAG at least 15 minutes each day to take the small steps towards it. Have focus.
That still doesn’t make building a tropical eco-treehouse wellness resort any less intimidating! But he made me feel I could definitely accelerate that project and that I definitely should.
It’s all about the connections and who you know. And that’s what I need to know more of if I’m going to be successful in any biz.
